Ketorlac Tromethamine (Toradol IM)

Class: Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory (NSAID) analgesic
Mechanism of action:
NSAID that also exhibits peripherally acting nonnarcotic analgesic activity by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis.
Indications:
Short-term management of moderate to severe pain.
Contraindications:
Allergy to salicylates or other NSAIDs; patients with history of asthma; bleeding disorders, especially GI related; renal failure
Adverse reactions:
Anaphylaxis due to hypersensitivity, N/V, GI bleeding, sedation, hypo/hypertension, rash, headache, edema
Drug Interactions:
May increase bleeding time in patients taking anticoagulants.

How Supplied: 15 or 30mg in 1mL or 60mg in 2mL vials
Dosage and administration:
Adult: 30-60mg IM. Peds: None
Duration of action:
Onset: 10mins Peak: 1-2hrs Duration: 2-6hrs
Special Considerations:
Pregnancy safety: Cat-C. Use with caution in elderly patients. May be given IV in lower dosage (15-30mg).
